Beautiful Berkeley Springs WV
Berkeley Springs, WV, is a gem of a small town nestled into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains at the extreme northern end of the Shenandoah Valley. The town is beautiful, charming, historic, affordable, family-friendly, safe, quiet, and green everywhere you look – except for the blue of the springs, two rivers, and many streams.
Berkeley Springs has been an oasis of rest and relaxation for two and a half centuries, ever since George Washington brought his family to enjoy the healing benefits of the warm mineral springs in the center of town. Berkeley Springs calls itself “The Country’s First Spa.” Today, the town features world-class dining, a nationally recognized art scene, blocks of unique and distinctive shops, a pair of local craft breweries, a variety of leisure and recreational activities, and, of course, three state-of-the-art and full-service spas. Yet, Berkeley Springs doesn’t look much different than it did more than 100 years ago.
